light personal practice this morning, chanted and danced to the River Song, no sage burned. reading #CourageToHeal, memories stirring...
Yesterday, Friday the 13th of September 2013, I started reading Courage to Heal, a book for women survivors of childhood sexual assault. I am reading this book and shall write a brief report on it as part of the requirements to become certified as a teacher of Forrest Yoga. I have already read 3 other books to this end, but Courage to Heal has affected me more than the others. Just reading through the first chapter brought up discoveries I made during AFY Foundation Teacher Training in Houston this year, namely that I was sexually assaulted as a small child, perhaps as young as 2 or 3. I cannot face the challenge of healing from this alone; I need professional counselling in order to right the wrongs done to me in the past and figure out how to live a wholesome, happy, & successful life. I am about to publish a book electronically, and I pledge to spend a portion of the proceeds on getting professional help and continuing the healing process. I am not alone, and it was never my fault. aho. X
